Vampire Survivor is finally coming to PlayStation – but first there’s the Contra DLC!

Vampire Survivor, a replayable Danmaku Roguelite game launching in fall 2022, will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS5 this summer, the developer announced Wednesday during the Indie Games Triple-I program. Meanwhile, the game will be getting its second crossover DLC in early May, bringing in Konami’s Contra for a mission called “Gun Ops.”

Operation Guns will see Contra’s Bill and Lance use an array of powerful guns to help deal with the undead infestation. A gameplay trailer released on Wednesday showed off the original game’s essential spread shots and tricky laser rifles, bringing bullet hell to the horde.

There are dozens of weapons (and their evolutions) in Vampire Survivor, but if we remember correctly, this is the first time guns have been used in the game. What better place to introduce them than the heroes of Konami’s classic side-scroller game? The game launched the legendary Konami Code in 1988 to a generation of Nintendo Entertainment System fans.

When will Vampire Survivor launch on PlayStation?

There’s no more concrete release date for PlayStation than the summer. When it does arrive, it will mean that Vampire Survivor is finally available on all current platforms. It will first release on PC in October 2022, followed by Xbox, mobile devices and Nintendo Switch next year.

Developer and publisher Luca “poncle” Galante said the PlayStation version will be fully updated, with all four DLC expansions available for purchase. Prices for the base game range from $3.99 on PC to $4.99 on consoles.

Gun Action will be priced at $2.49, the same as Vampire Survivor’s first crossover with another game, Emergency Meeting, which launched in December in partnership with Innersloth’s Among Us. Recently, Riot Games announced that League of Legends will be joining forces with Vampire Survivor, also sometime this summer.
