It’s been almost two years since V Rising launched into early access, and it’s pretty good indeed. Since then, we’ve had some Early Access DLC (which always catches the attention of a person or two) and countless updates from the hardworking developers at Stunlock Studios in Sweden.

Now, the game will be officially released on May 8, and the news that EA sales have exceeded the 4 million copies mark shows that players’ desire for vampire games shows no signs of waning.

The new Castlevania content is sure to pique the interest of players of the beloved series, Frisegård said: “We are all huge Castlevania fans, so to be able to truly create original Castlevania content in our game is a dream come true . What is V Rise?

In V Rising, you survive as a newly awakened vampire in a world dominated by humans and become the next Dracula. Feed on blood, gain new powers, hide from the sun, and engage in real-time PvE and PvP battles in a dark fantasy kingdom. Build your castle and invite friends to join you, explore a vast open world, pillage villages, clash with bandits, and delve into the lairs of supernatural beasts. Attack other players’ castles or become a diplomat in a game of blood, power and betrayal.
