Pokémon GO!Announcing May Community Day

May’s featured Pokémon is Bounsweet. This raspberry and green creature will be available to trainers throughout the month, along with a number of trainer-based buffs.

Community Day for the mobile version of Nintendo’s classic game increases your chances of getting shiny versions of these rare Pokemon. Therefore, finding the right bait and strategy to catch as many Pokémon as possible within the limited active window is key.

With active challenges, trainers can throw their digital Pokeball and hope the buckle stays closed. According to the announcement, as a reward, if Bonusweet evolves into Steenee, trainers will receive “Tsareena who knows how to charge up attacks and jump high kicks.”

The event also includes a paid Community Day special research story, available for purchase through Pokemon Go! Place. This can net you the following event bonuses:

    • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
    • 1/4 of the egg hatching distance when the eggs are placed in the incubator during the event
    • Trainers level 31 and above have 2x chance of receiving Candy XL from catching Pokémon
    • Lure modules activated during the event will last for three hours
    • Incense activated during the event (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) lasts for three hours
    • Take a few snaps during Community Day for a surprise!
    • Maximum of one additional special deal allowed per day
    • Stardust required for transactions reduced by 50%

The event will provide Ninatic with an opportunity to iron out hilarious bugs present in the game. After a recent update, Godzilla-esque giant feet have taken over the screen in the monster hunting game.

This is in addition to a more significant update for Niantic’s popular Pokémon game, which enhances graphics and the game’s photo mode.

Trainers looking to participate in Pokémon GO this month! May Community Day can be held on May 19th from 2pm to 5pm local time.
