Leaked gameplay trailer reveals Sega’s next game: Sonic Toy Party

According to a leaked video, Sega’s next game will be a new Sonic game called Sonic Toys Party, a free-to-play mobile game with similar gameplay to Fall Guys for iOS and Android.

The game is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2024 and will feature a range of popular franchise characters including Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Metal Sonic, Amy and Eggman.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the next entry in the popular Sonic series since Sega launched Sonic Superstar last year. Following speculation online, the rumors have been put to rest as a leaked gameplay trailer showcased the latest entry in the series.

Sonic Toys Party is expected to be released for iOS and Android, with all other platforms to follow.

The leaked Japanese trailer shows off many of Sonic Toy Party’s gameplay mechanics, specifically how the game is being developed for mobile devices, with fast-paced gameplay and various modes and stages.

Although people will immediately compare it to Mediatonic’s popular game Fall Guys, Sonic Toys Party seems to be a faster-paced game. Also included are classic Sonic features like collecting gold rings for increased speed, auto-guiding attacks, and racing to the finish line.

The game will also feature a blend of classic and modern character designs – all inspired by the Sonic & Friends series. This means that players can choose their favorite from Sonic, Tails, Shadow and Knuckles. All come with classic voice lines to enhance the experience.

Sonic Toys Party will also be a free-to-play game, with the option of a Battle Pass system – both free and paid. The advanced system includes the option to purchase hats, shoes, clothing, and more to customize your character the way you want.

The trailer was first released by YouTuber The Sonic Show, which had some comments about how rough the visuals were. However, the leaked gameplay comes from the game’s early development and has been out for almost a year.

The levels included in Sonic Toys Party include: Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Wave Ocean, Lava Field, and another maze-like level.

While this leaked footage shows a lot of exciting elements, Sega has yet to verify any of the footage. However, the game is expected to launch later this year, so we’ll be able to take a look at it ourselves.
