One of the world’s most famous streamers and Fortnite legend Tyler Blevins, aka “Ninja,” posted on his skin cancer treatment.

Ninja posted the following message urging his followers to have any skin spots checked by a doctor that they were unsure about:

“Well I’m still a little shocked but wanted to keep you guys updated. A few weeks ago I went to the dermatologist for my annual skin/mole check and Jesse took the initiative to schedule it for me. I have a mole on the bottom of my foot and they Wanted to remove it just to be careful.

“It came back as melanoma, but they were optimistic that we caught it in the early stages. I had another dark spot near it, so today they biopsied it and removed more of the melanoma around it. Large areas, hopefully under the microscope they’ll see a clear non-melanoma border and we’ll know we got it. I’m glad this was caught early, but take this as a PSA for skin testing.”

The 32-year-old streaming star from Detroit has nearly 20 million followers on his Twitch channel, so his message will be spread far and wide.

Ninja was one of the first streamers to follow Fortnite: Battle Royale when it first launched, and has further cemented his status as one of the most famous online personalities of our time.

He has previously used the influence of his platform to raise funds for Children’s Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Hopefully this disease will be caught sooner rather than later, and emphasize the need for self-awareness if you notice new blemishes on your skin.
